www.unseen64.net http Ganbare Goemon 5: Neo Momoyama Bakufu no Odori! Nintendo Ultra 64 beta demo trailer Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (known as Ganbare Goemon: Neo Momoyama Bakufu no Odori! in Japan) continues the gameplay style found in Goemon 3: exploration-based action, very similar to Zelda (the first two Goemon games were basically sidescrollers at heart). As Goemon and his friends, explore ancient towns, haunted castles, and mysterious bamboo groves in polygonal 3D and solve puzzles to advance. The game never takes itself seriously -- whether you're talking to the ghost of a wise man in a Hamlet-inspired seance (complete with laugh track) or smashing tiny mechanical armies in your Goemon Impact robot. The gameplay offers mainly platform jumping and exploration, but there are of course plenty adventure elements and you can talk to everyone and everything. ign64.ign.com

The game begins when the main character is asked to try out a new device of Professor Oak's that is used to talk to Pokémon. The player soon meets a wild Pikachu and befriends it. The Pikachu's trust must be earned by the player and eventually it will come and live in the player's house. There are three different activity days: Pikachu's Daring Days, Discovery Days, and Play Days. Each day has a different objective (ie collecting food, going fishing) and the player can earn Pika Points, which is the currency used at Abra's Shop to unlock new items. Eventually, if the player reaches day 365, Professor Oak appears and says that Pikachu has to be released, as it is a wild Pokémon. The player has to go to the woods where Pikachu was found and say "goodbye" several times, upon which Pikachu realizes he can't live with the player anymore, and, sadly, leaves. After the credits, while the player is looking around the front yard and reminiscing about Pikachu, it returns, and the game continues as if Pikachu was never released. Video game review aggregators like Metacritic and Game Rankings gave the game mixed reviews. Some complaints included the simplistic music and graphics, the controls, and the limits of the voice-recognition technology, which only understood about 200 words. Because of this, and due to the many different languages in Europe and other territories (and the huge variation of regional dialect in the UK, significantly more than any other anglophone region), it was never released outside of Japan and North America. A spiritual sequel to Hey You, Pikachu!, Pokémon Channel was also developed by Ambrella. It was released on the Nintendo gamecube.

It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like. It's also here so that I can embed it, along with most of the games in my collection, on my website (see link above). Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt. They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.

January 1993, Nintendo unveiled its first polygon shooter Starfox for the Super NES. This was the first game equipped with the SUPER FX chip which was a custom RISC processor programmed to act like a graphics accelerator chip to draw polygons to a frame buffer in the RAM sitting adjacent in the SNES hardware. Nintendo presented the game inside a giant 360 degree "Space Dome" complete with a laser light show and a few sit-down Starfox demo kiosks. It was truly a spectacular event you had to have been there in-person to experience this. In 2007, Dylan Cuthbert ( President of Q-Games ) sat down to talk about his role in developing games leading up to Starfox and his relationship with Nintendo. The Starfox laser footage can also be seen in the interview - check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wghaeiwkey&feature=channel_page

ADD me on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com Follow me on TWITTER for exclusive updates: www.twitter.com As a kid, I couldn't wait for Nintendo 64 to launch. I was quite the nerdy fanboy, if I do say so myself. I wrote PLAY IT LOUD with white-out on my backpack to support the SNES back in the early to mid 1990's. Remember that being their slogan at the time? I sure do. I bet you remember: "Get N or Get Out" I'm sure you do. Anyway, as a Nintendo purist, I defended them no matter what... but it was difficult to do so when Nintendo 64 struggled to compete with the Sony Playstation. No matter what, I loved the system. Here, I talk about a defunct Next Generation Magazine issue, which I consider infamous, and how correct its forecast on the N64 was... and more importantly, how wrong it turned out to be. Please rate, comment, subscribe, and video respond. Just participate! -AG NOTE: Next Generation no longer exists. Owned.

I originally did this a year ago on a Matrox Triplehead setup now that I got a HD video camera I figure I make the video. This video was done with ATI 5870 Eyefinity at 5760x1200 resolution over 3x 24" monitor This a Zelda Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64. I ran the ROM with Project64 v1.7 emulator. I almost poop my pants when I loaded the game up and it runs in H+ and support triplehead surround perfectly (at least the 3D part). After I that I tried a whole bunch of N64 games but sadly none of them work properly. As far as I know this is the only N64 game rom that runs in H+. Imagine that, the game came out 12 years ago (1997) and runs on 320x240 on a tube TV.
